I disagree completely. The woman made her decision, and if Doug had any reservations about it, he should have informed her at the time. I just wonder how many of those rallying to keep the dog would go TODAY to the shelter and adopt one who's going to be killed? Thousands are waiting to be saved.

and spread on her grave.

To put down Bela would be wrong. What's next, having children euthanized because the parent dies? This will should absolutely not be followed and if you allow it to happen you are as much to blame and as stupid and senseless as Bela's previous owner (who didn't deserve her).

Further, how did this issue become public? This is a private matter that should have been handled PRIVATELY!

For those interested: Best Friends is a wonderful sanctuary for all animals. Dogs are not kept in kennels 100% of the time, they have free range access to the outdoors as well as human interaction and are well cared for. I also assume once they have legal possession of the dog, they might be able to re-home him to a loving family.

it passes naturally, I will have it cremated

Mr. Denmure..Please convince your client (the executor of the late Connie Lay) to relinquish the dog named Bela, formerly belonging to Connie Lay, to Best Friends animal society in Utah. If funds are an issue, I am 100% positive the dog loving community will provide funds for this dog to lead a happy and full life. I would be more than happy to donate funds as well.

This woman was NOT in her right mind

A will CAN be broken.

Don't be a sick, that is willing to put a dog down to respect their clients wishes. Give the dog a better life with someone else and then creamate her when the time comes to respect the owners wishes! How disturbing to hear a news briefing like that, have a heart it's the holiday season! & Charlene- I would travel from Arizona to Indiana today, to save that dog!!!! yes that's exactly what I said!! TODAY!!! You're a cruel individual!

I will gladly keep the dog, when

to do this to her friend,

If Connie Lay had a friend or relative responsible enough to care for her dog as she would, she would have made that provision. And sending the dog to Best Friends is the stupidest thing I've read. Living in a kennel among hundreds of other dogs is an egregious injustice, and a shameful one!
